Michigan Hay Field
A dear friend of mine lives on a farm up in northern Michigan. This is a photograph she took of the harvest of her hay fields in late summer. I loved the play between the dark shadows of the far off trees and the golden hues of the near fields. There is something about the color of the sky in northern Michigan that can just take your breath away. I created this painting using shades of deep purple, light green, radium cadmium yellow and cerulean blue.
